This seems to be a list of malfunction events or states. In the public transport context, this Quittierung is a sort of sign-off. Until it takes place, the process it is involved in is not complete. e.g. a bus sends a call request. The control centre might simply call the bus by radio and in the process automatically mark the call request as 'quittiert' (acknowledged -- effectively as no longer needing attention). If they can't call the bus for some reason, they might send a message to that effect and thus equally acknowledge the call request.
While "acknowledge" seems to be the standard translation, it doesn't seem to me entirely satisfactory. |
