"In dem uns zu Prüfung vorgelegten Jahresabschluss wurden auf die Sperrlagerbestände keine Wertabschläge vorgenommen, obwohl deren Werthaltigkeit eingeschränkt ist. Im Ergebnis der Prüfung wurde ein auf der Grundlage einer Schätzung der Geschäftsführung ermittelter Wertabschlag in Höhe von 50% der Anschaffungs- und Herstellungskosten des Sperrlagers gebildet."

Explanation:
is colloqially used in the UK. This (the Sperrlager) is actually a term I've heard used, probably more as a joke, at VW for components not to be fitted, which are ditched in a bin and sent straight to the scrap container. It is - and sounds! - far less formal than Kim's suggestion, it's true, so it's over to you! Seems to me that VW doesn't actually have a "formal" quarantine store.
