I haven't been able to find a direct link between Abmeldung and my translation (declaration) anywhere, but I have the impression that it's not an IT term but a customs term.
Zweck der Ausfuhrabmeldung
Die Ausfuhrabmeldung ist die vereinfachte Ausfuhrdeklaration - 1. Phase des zweistufigen Ausfuhrverfahrens - die der Zugelassene Versender der Zollverwaltung elektronisch übermittelt.
Anstelle des zweistufigen Ausfuhrverfahrens mit Ausfuhrabmeldung vor Warenabfuhr und ZM90-Ausfuhr nach Warenabfuhr, kann der Zugelassene Versender (ZV) Sendungen auch direkt mit ZM90-Ausfuhr deklarieren. Im einstufigen Verfahren gibt es keinen Prozess Ausfuhrabmeldung.

Our aim is that existing Export and Transit Customs Declarations will be input electronically by the trade.
This means existing procedures for making export declarations will cease at these locations. Declarations will have to be made using the new procedures set up for NES.
Exporters must make every effort to ensure readiness for the 27 October. There will be a number of electronic routes available for exporters to send declarations to CHIEF.
The implementation of NES will be closely followed by the introduction of the New Computerised Transit System (NCTS) - target for the UK implementation - Spring 2003.

| Grading comment "Export declaration" has already been used in the system as a translation of the term "Ausfuhranmeldung". The developers in the US and in Germany think that "export departure notification" is the English equivalent of "Ausfuhrabmeldung". The background info is useful though. Thanks, Kim.
