Explanation:
I think your translation must be about old stock; "steam rolling stock" went out of fashion a long time ago, and there were at that time still a few "short tube boilers" about. Although I have heard of these, I can't tell you anything about them, because they disappeared before (even) I was born. The most recent convetional steam boiler was the "long-tube" type, with the tubes running from end to end of the boiler. I rather assume the "short tube" type was the earliest of all boilers.
