(Für "Stückgutbereich" würde ich "general cargo area" einsetzen. Aber was mache ich mit dem "Ladungsbereich"? Für Eure Hilfe vielen Dank im Voraus!)

neutral  xxxCMJ_Trans: this has nothing to do with actual physical areas. "Bereich" refers to "fields" or "sectors" ADDED: Who mentioned computers? This is talking about port connections and they mean that type of business or traffic. Area just doesn't fit with the rest anyway

depending on whether the loads are cotnainer loads or truck loads

Part-loads and full-loads are common parlance in the rail sector but not so in the rest of the transport world. I have a foot in both camps!
