It's from a tender dealing with communications systems for a metro system:
"Das System wird in dreiteiligen Triebzügen (Zweirichtungsfahrzeugen) bestehend aus zwei Endwagen und einem Mittelwagen mit max. **4-fach-Traktion** (Abschleppbereich) eingesetzt."
"Bei in **Mehrfach-Traktion** betriebenen Schienenfahrzeugen wird die NF-Information vom führenden Fahrzeug (Master) in die gekuppelten weiteren Fahrzeuge (Slaves) übertragen (über den NF-Zugbus)"
