German term or phrase: Reibenrolle
I am told that this is the part in a dynamo light which can be replaced when worn out.
Anyone know what is it called in English??

friction roller
Explanation:
It is the part of the dynamo that lies (usually with a spring, so as to provide sufficient force) against a moving surface (e.g., the wheel of a bycicle). The moving surface rubs against this roller, making it turn, and this forces the dynamo (with which it is connected through an axis) to also turn, thus generating electricity.

Note that the roller is usually (almost) paralell to the moving surface, or at least at an angle - if it is perpendicular to the surface, then probably it is a friction disc like Christian suggests.
