German term or phrase: Tretroller
I have a text here, in which I have to distinguish a "Roller" from a "Tretroller". In my existing dictionaries, both simply say "scooter". Is there any possible word that I can put in front of "scooter" for "Tretroller"?

Thanks. This appears to be the best word in the end for differentiating it from a plain "scooter".

Moped

Explanation:
I would think that they mean a "Moped" which is a motorised, pedal "scooter".

scooter

Explanation:
It's a non-motorised type of transport, moved by stepping with one foot and resting the other foot on the frame. Originally for children, there are also models for adults now. Sometimes also used as means of transport for employees at airports or at manufacturing sites. See link for pictures and descriptions

Kick board

Explanation:
The old childs scooter has been largely replaced in recent years by hip aluminium and (sometimes) wood affairs that hip young(ish) city dwellers use to get around. In english there is no real difference between scooter as a foot powered vehicle and scooter as in Vespa, so updating the vocabulary and using kickboard would perhaps help to differenciate.
