Diese und andere Anachronismen - hätte man sich anno 1627 für einen Maskenball tatsächlich als Eisbär verkleidet? - verbinden sich jedoch mit den historisch verbürgten Fakten zu einem täuschend echten Bild. Lester sah seine Filme in der Tradition des belgischen Surrealisten René Magritte, auf dessen Gemälden realistisch gemalte Objekte trotz irrealer Kombination zu einer bruchlosen Oberfläche verschmelzen. |
