Der Begriff selfness stammt vermutl. ab von den Begriffen „self“ (engl. selbst) und » wellness, fitness, happiness und beinhaltet u.A. Eigenverantwortung, Individualität und das Einbeziehen von Geist und Seele auf dem Weg zu einem glücklichen Leben.
Lebenslanges Lernen, Umorientierung und Veränderung sind im Hinblick auf Globalisierung und demographischen Wandel die Grundlagen für das Leben im 21. Jahrhundert. Es wird künftig nicht mehr ausreichen, sich zurückzulehnen und sich soz. „bewellnessen“ zu lassen. Wir befinden uns in einer Zeit des rapiden Wandels.
