S"il s'agit d'un mot qui s'écrit de la même façon et avec le même sens lorsqu'il est traduit dans une autre langue, il s'agit manifestement d'un emprunt lexical. Le plus souvent, le mot est importé parce que celui-ci ou la notion qu'iltraduit n'existe pas rigoureusement dans l'autre langue.

Mais il peut s'agir également d'un mot importé parce qu'il est à la mode et qui fait alors "doublon".

Asker: Danke, aber das ist nicht dasselbe! – entspricht dem deutschen "Lehnwort"...

Asker: Die Abgrenzung ist manchmal tatsächlich unscharf: Viele Parallelwörter sind zugleich auch Lehnwörter aus (meist) nicht-indogermanischen Sprachen. Andererseits gibt's z.B. in den slawischen und skandinavischen Sprachen Parallelwörter, die nicht als Lehnwörter im etymologischen Sinn bezeichnet werden können.

Asker: In meinem Kontext sind allerdings nicht die faux amis gemeint; vielmehr sollen die sog. "Parallelwörter" in einem französischen Kinderlied den Zugang zur Sprache erleichtern... hmmm, im Hinblick auf die faux amis didaktisch nicht besonders geschickt, wenn man's bedenkt...

Nous nous intéressons ici aux méthodes d’alignement automatique destinées à produire des corpus bi-textuels, utiles au traducteur, au terminologue ou au linguistique. Certaines techniques ont obtenu des résultats probants en s’appuyant sur la détermination empirique des « cognats » (de l’anglais « cognate »), des mots qui se traduisent l’un par l’autre et qui présentent une ressemblance graphique. Or les cognats sont généralement captés au moyen d’une approximation abrupte, de nature opératoire : on considère tous les 4-grammes (mots possédants 4 lettres en commun) comme cognats potentiels.
