Η υποστροφή, αντίθετα συμβαίνει όταν το εμπρός μέρος του αυτοκινήτου γλιστρά προς το εξωτερικό μιας στροφής. Και σε αυτή τη περίπτωση, αν το φαινόμενο είναι πολύ έντονο υπάρχει κίνδυνος να βγει από το δρόμο.
