Zu seinem Schutz wurde an dieser Stelle eine Befestigung, die Altenburg errichtet, deren Verteidigungswerke mit Spitzgraben stellenweise ergraben worden sind. Nur wenige Meter nördlich der jetzigen Stadt, auf einem nach Norden vorspringenden Bergsporn erhob sich die Burg.

La forma ovviamente è a V però questa espressione non mi piace, mi ricorda le maglie a V. In questo caso preferirei dire fossa/fossato ad estremità conica/a punta.
