e poi si spiega che tutta la tinozza è fatta di Käferholz

prima pensavo fosse un errore per Kieferholz, ma non è così...

di che tipo di legno si tratta, secondo voi?

Explanation:
Meiner Meinung nach ist Käferholz von Käfern befallenes Holz (siehe auch hier (www.wvs.ch/de/fachzeitschrift/01_8_Kaeferholz.pdf). Ich bin nicht sicher, wie das auf Italienisch heißt, aber ich denke "legno tarlato" - die Tierchen heißen auf jedenfall "tarli" :)

Allerdings sind tarli (Holzwürmer) eigentlich die Insekten, die schon trockenes Holz befallen, Möbel usw., während es auch Käferchen gibt, die sich von den Bäumen im Wald ernähren.... aber ich denke der Effekt ist derselbe....(musst du vielleicht nochmal recherchieren, ob es einen anderen Ausdruck dafür gibt)
