ciao Dani, ho interpretato il termine così:
allargamento del telaio del sollevatore, per superare/attraversare meglio gli ostacoli/mobili

ci sono migliaia di tipologie, ad es. i sollevatori per cambiare le lampadine dei lampioni stradali, insegne luminose, forse nel tuo caso possono essere - così mi immagino - dei sollevatori su carrelli per la movimentazione di merci in magazzini, attrezzi per l'arredamento/allestimento di negozi ecc.

anche in questo caso userei "allargamento del telaio"
ad es. il telaio del sollevatore dotato, appunto, come dice il termine, di un "telaio/struttura allargabile"
