ti consiglio di tradurre le rivendicazioni in modo più possibile aderente al testo source, mantenendo anche la punteggiatura (cioè non inserire punti), e traducendo anche il "caratterizzato".
Un link ad un brevetto in italiano (in rete ne trovi anche altri), in cui puoi vedere la struttura delle rivendicazioni, che ripetono sempre "caratterizzato dal..."
