Definition Composti a struttura dibenzo-furanica contenuti nella resina di cannabis indica.Tra questi il più attivo come allucinogeno è l'isomero Delta-9;indirettamente attivo è anche l'acido tetraidrocannabinolico dal quale si forma il THC per decarbossilazione con il riscaldamento(combustione della sigaretta).Ha proprietà sedative e produce effetti sull'umore,sulla memoria,sulla percezione del tempo,sulla coordinazione motoria.Questi effetti dipendono da varie condizioni esterne e sono potenziati dall'assunzione di alcool.Ad alte dosi provoca tolleranza senza indurre dipendenza fisica.Il suo prodotto di metabolizzazione,l'11-OH-THC è più attivo dello stesso THC.I due prodotti presentano un lungo tempo di dimezzamento.
