Stesso argomento della mia domanda precedente (Bandanzeige). Ora parla della retroilluminazione dei display LCD e dice:
Der Stromverbrauch für die Beleuchtung ist dem Rollband ähnlich. Suppongo che il Rollband sia il sistema che viene sostituito dai display LCD, ma il testo non è chiarissimo.

Vedi spiegazione della mia domanda precedente. In alternativa a "rullo" si potrebbe pensare a "nastro", anche se non è esattamente la stessa cosa. Un nastro secondo me scorre in orizzontale, un rullo in verticale. Se i tabelloni a cui si riferisce il testo sono quelli che intendo io, lì le lettere scorrono in verticale.

Explanation:

agree  Giuliana Buscaglione: beh, il rullo fa scorrere il nastro, Giovanna, e molte calcolatrici hanno un nastro "in verticale"; cioè non credo che la posizione sia importante..
