Es handelt sich dabei um die Anzahl der Seile, die von einem Haken an einem Kran herabhängen, es sind gewöhnlich 1, 2 oder 4 Seile.
Habe im Archiv nichts gefunden, auch nicht in meinem technischen Wörterbuch.
Es gibt dafür bestimmt einen speziellen Ausdruck im Englischen, etwa in Sinne von "hanged wire rope" oder so ähnlich?
