kiszenie / kisic Explanation: Z okresleniem Silieren spotkalem sie w tem. rolniczej. Pochodzi od Silage = kiszonka. Silage ist durch Gärung konserviertes hochwertiges Grünfutter. Dabei wird das wasserhaltige Material (Gras, Mais, kleeartige Futterpflanzen, Ackerbohnen, Hafer, Rübenblätter usw.) meist gehäckselt in ein Silo gefüllt und luftdicht abgedeckt. Nun vermehren sich darin Milchsäurebakterien, vergären den Zuckeranteil der Pflanzenmasse und bilden daraus Milchsäure. Sie gibt dem Gemisch einen säuerlichen Geruch und Geschmack (ähnlich wie Sauerkraut) und einen pH-Wert von unter 4 gibt und verhindert damit das Wachstum von Fäulnisbakterien. Schließlich ist das Gemisch so sauer, dass selbst die Milchsäurebakterien gehemmt werden: Die Gärung kommt zum Stillstand und das silierte Futter ist nun lange Zeit haltbar. Allerdings sollte es vorsichtig und nur in kleinen Portionen aus dem Silo entnommen werden, weil zuviel Luftsauerstoff es verdirbt.
