Sie düngen, säen und pflanzen, pflegen Pflanzen, ernten Getreide, Hackfrüchte und Futter. Die einschlägigen Geräte und Maschinen wie z.B. Ackerschlepper, Spritzgeräte, Sämaschinen, Mähdrescher oder Beregnungsanlagen reparieren sie und halten sie instand. Sie arbeiten im eigenen landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb, in landwirtschaftlichen Großbetrieben oder auch in landwirtschaftlichen Forschungs- und Versuchsanstalten.
