"Der transsonar Wegaufnehmer für Linearbewegung bildet die Basis für die Istgröße, die als Ableitung (Geschwindigkeit) vom Wegaufnehmersignal gebildet wird. Der transsonar Wegaufnehmer arbeitet nach dem technisch interessanten absoluten Prinzip der Magnetostriktion. Der Wegaufnehmer wird hinten am Hydraulikteil des Dosierzylinders angeflanscht und ist innerhalb des Zylinders von Hydrauliköl umgeben. Em português não costumamos diferenciar o termo Geber (emissor) de Sensor, como se faz no alemão, que é mais específico na descrição da função de cada um, mas na realidade fazem a mesma coisa.

Sem esquecer que a coincidência de nomenclatura com o Wegaufnehmer (sensor de posição) é inevitável, apesar de que este se refere à ajuste, regulagem, enquanto o Positionsgeber apenas capta um sinal e o transmite para alguma central de comando.
