Pesquisas na Web me informaram que se trata de superfícies lisas (o antônimo "rau" aparece com freqüência nos mesmos textos):

Exemplo:

"Bei der Thermoface-Technologie entstehen glatte und
geschlossene Oberflächen mit sehr geringer Rauheit."

Porém, o adjetivo "glatt", que significa "liso", aparece muitas vezes combinado com "geschlossen", como no meu contexto:

"Besondere Anforderungen stellen dabei sehr glatte, geschlossene Oberflächen oder aufgrund der Bearbeitungs- und Werkstoffstruktur rauhe Oberflächen."

Há um termo técnico para isto? Ou devo simplesmente simplificar a tradução assim:

"glatte, geschlossene Oberflächen..." = "superfícies lisas"

Ou talvez complementar da seguinte forma:

"superfícies lisas, não porosas..."

o que eu acharia um pouco estranho, pois seria doppelt gemoppelt...
