Could anyone pls help out with a suitable translation for the word "charr." This word is being repeatedly used in connection with surgical instruments. Examples: "Ersatzschlinge, 7 Charr. Polypenschnürer mit Griff, 7 Charr., Länge 50 cm. Resektoskop- Schaft, 22 Char." "Charr." always appears with the "C" capitalized. Thanks for your help.

In der Medizin ist Charrière (CH) ein Maß für den Außendurchmesser von Kanülen und Kathetern. Dabei entspricht 1 Charr. einem Drittel Millimeter. Namensgeber war Joseph-Frédéric-Benoît Charrière. Im englischen Sprachraum wird die Größe vereinfacht als French (FR) bezeichnet.
