На определенное время она не стала мифом (или все таки стала мифом) не потому, что была безупречна, а потому, что ....

NICHT не на "своем" месте:
Sie wurde für eine bestimmte Zeit zum Mythos NICHT, weil sie ohne Tadel war, sondern weil sie unserer Zeit Ausdruck verlieh.
В предложении дважды повторяются придаточные предложения с weil. Поэтому вполне логично, что конструкция NICHT, SONDERN относится именно к придаточным
