Según de lo que se trate exactamente, podrían servirte una de estas dos opciones que indico. El RAE dice, respecto a baca:
"Portaequipaje. Artefacto que se coloca sobre el techo del automóvil. // Sitio en la parte superior de las diligencias y demás coches de camino, donde podían ir pasajeros y se colocaban equipajes y otros efectos resguardados con una cubierta."
