Explanation:
La traducción de esmerilado es correcta pero en el campo eléctrico significa insertar en bucle en un circuito y para cables también se utiliza inserción en bucle.
Creo que esto pega mejor en este caso.
"se trata de que las superficies de los componentes metálicos se adapten lentamente entre sí en sus zonas de contacto, casi insertandose en bucle.
