Om man tänker sig att man lägger vattenpasset på en horisontell yta, dock med den smala sidan nedåt och uppåt (dvs. de större ytorna till höger och vänster) så syns horisontallibellen upptill. Denna libell kan läsas av uppifrån och från de båda sidorna. Libellen skyddas upptill av _durchgehender Steg_, dvs., ett slags bygel som utgör en förlängning av vattenpassets kant mellan den breda och smala sidan. |
