To XXXXXX εφαρμόστηκε με ψεκασμό κάλυψης. Ως μάρτυρες αναφοράς επιλέχθηκαν το γιββερελλινικό οξύ ή η **χαραγή**, ενώ σε ορισμένα πειράματα δεν χρησιμοποιήθηκε μάρτυρας αναφοράς παρά μόνο αψέκαστος μάρτυρας.

I don't know the correct technical term here. Is it just "slitting" (or similar) or is there a more proper expression?
