Δεν είχα χρόνο πριν για λεπτομέρειες. Να εξηγήσω: επειδή ο δωρικός ρυθμός ξεχώριζε για τις αυστηρές και λιτές γραμμές του, το επίθετο "δωρικός" αλλά και το ουσιαστικό "δωρικότητα" χρησιμοποιούνται με τη μεταφορική σημασία της λιτότητας. Π.χ. στο ΛΚΝ:

(μτφ.) που τον χαρακτηρίζει η μεγαλοπρέπεια και συνάμα η λιτότητα του δωρικού ρυθμού, στη μορφή ή στην έκφρασή του: Νοήματα διατυπωμένα με δωρική λιτότητα. Αγέρωχος και στιβαρός σαν ~ κίονας.

Στα αγγλικά, το Doric σκέτο δεν έχει τη διαφάνεια που έχει το "δωρικός" στα ελληνικά. Πρέπει να συνοδεύεται από λέξεις όπως simplicity ή austerity.
