Greek to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) | | Greek term or phrase: προμηθευτικός συνεταιρισμός | as in, for example, Προμηθευτικός Συνεταιρισμός Φαρμαμοποιών Αττικής (ΠΡΟΣΥΦΑΠΕ)
On-line sources give "consumer cooperative" for προμηθευτικός συνεταιρισμός. Is this correct? Is there a good reason why it should be called "consumer cooperative" rather than, say, "suppliers' cooperative"? |

| | English translation:Pharmacists Supply Co-op-Ltd. of Attica | Explanation: I would use "supply cooperative".
Instead of using a long title such as "Pharmacists Supply Limited Liability Cooperative Society of Attica", I think using the abbreviation as above would be more suitable, hence "Pharmacists Supply Co-op-Ltd. of Attica".

Βρήκα κάτι, αλλά δεν ξέρω αν τα περιπλέκει ή τα διορθώνει: Στο pericles.ee.duth.gr/Html/protypo.doc γίνεται εκτενής αναφορά σε όλα τα είδη συνεταιρισμών. |

| Grading comment Thank you, Efi and everyone. "supply cooperative" seems all right as a general term for the Greek category. "retailers'" and "consumers'" also noted! 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer |
