I went for 'transfer' in the end. It just SOUNDED better. But it seems that 'alienation' is also used for the transfer of shares, so Triada, Angeliki and Dave are ALL right.

agree  Dave Bindon: I'd go with alienation. I have a strong feeling I know the case Julian is working on, and the 'alienation of shares' would be done in order to take them out of the court's jurisdiction.
