Journalism
Greek term or phrase: τηλεοπτική ζώνη
πρωινή, prime time κ.ο.κ.).

"Slot" is the familiar term for most people (I've just checked with my colleague who's working downstairs!), but specialists may use the word "block" for a longer period of time (after all, "slot" can refer to quite a short time).

I prefer "slot".

"Block" can also mean a series of programmes of the same kind, broadcast one after another (as above).

I would use "slot" ("television slot" or "broadcasting slot" or just "slot") unless there's a strong reason for using some other term!

-> Thanks. I've suggested "block" as an alternative, and there may be reasons for using it, but I'm not sure it's justified here. "Slot" is the first word my mind reaches for, in those common collocations, "prime-time / morning / evening slot".

agree  Philip Lees: I like 'slot'. That was the word my mind reached for when I read the Greek text, but it didn't find it :-) I think slot is perfect here.
