Εάν πάρουμε το ζήτημα της διαφήμισης αλυσιδωτά τότε έχουμε την εξής διαδικασία: το τηλεοπτικό κανάλι και η εταιρεία παραγωγής παράγουν και μεταδίδουν ένα υποτιθέμενο πρόγραμμα (βελάκι) το οποίο πρόγραμμα καταναλώνεται από τους τηλεθεατές (βελάκι) ο βαθμός της κατανάλωσης του προγράμματος εκτιμάται από τους δείκτες τηλεθέασης (βελάκι) στις οποίες μετρήσεις της τηλεθέασης έχουν πρόσβαση οι διαφημιστές αφού είναι το σημαντικότερο εργαλείο εκτίμησης το οποίο βοηθά τους διαφημιστές να αγοράσουν τον ανάλογο «χώρο» στο τηλεοπτικό κανάλι.

Μιας και το "commercial" είναι κυρίως αμερικανικό, μπορείς να χρησιμοποιήσεις το "TV ad time" ή το "TV advert time".
