Στο Οργανόγραμμα το οποίο έχει αναρτηθεί στην ιστοσελίδα του Αρχηγείου της Ελληνικής Αστυνομίας, υπάρχει ο Κλάδος Ασφάλειας και Τάξης, που είναι ο μόνος κλάδος που ταιριάζει, έστω όχι τέλεια, με το ακρώνυμο. Επίσης, πάλι με βάση το εν λόγω Οργανόγραμμα, το ΔΔΑ είναι η Διεύθυνση Δημόσιας Ασφάλειας, και το 1 είναι το 1ο Τμήμα (Αντιμετώπισης του Εγκλήματος).
