Δεν πρόκειται για καμιά συνηθισμένη χρήση του colonize στα αγγλικά. Μεταφορικά τη χρησιμοποιεί ο συγγραφέας, για να ξενίσει και να εντυπωσιάσει.
Αυτή η μεταφορική σημασία και αυτή η αίσθηση πιστεύω ότι πρέπει να διατηρηθούν και στα ελληνικά. Ενδεχομένως, την πρώτη φορά που εμφανίζεται στο κείμενο θα πρέπει να μπει σε εισαγωγικά (όπως θα έπρεπε και στα αγγλικά).
Θα προτιμούσα απλώς ενεργητική σύνταξη, χωρίς ωστόσο να με ενοχλεί πολύ το "αποικίστηκε". |
