The context in which it was heard could have helped. If the word you came across was "saambharvu" - it would either mean to collect or gather e.g kachro sambhaari le (collect/gather the dust) or to mean remember/recollect e.g partyma mare geet sambhaarvu padyu (I had to recollect a song at the party).
If at all the word was sabhlyu - then it means 'to listen' or 'hear'
e.g., Me sambhlyu chhe ke tame India avana chho (I heard that you are coming to India)
And lastly, sambhar is either a south indian curry /a Gujarati mixture of spices (precursor to the mango pickle) whereas sambhaaro is a saurashtrian(a regoin in Gujarat state) form of semi cooked crispy vegetables to be had at each meal.
