Gujarati to English translations [PRO]

Gujarati term or phrase: Gun dai
again the dai is pronounceed like bhai and i have no idea what this means
Goldenstat
English translation:benificial, give good deed/habits; give the gun
Explanation:
If the word 'dai' sounds like 'might' or 'sight' then it means benificial;

but if 'dai' sounds like 'de' in the word devil or 'devdas' then it means give.

If 'gu' in gun sounds like 'goo' in the word 'goose' then here gun means good deed .
Hence meaning 'give some of your good deeds or good habits or good behaviour /character'.

if gun sounds like gun in english then it means give the gun.(using the english word)

I also agree with Seema's explanation.

yes !!!Literally and formal words for give are:

aap give (singular )
aapu means i give
aapsho means give(plural ) or a request or also means please give.

dai too means give it is kind of an abrupt form , informal or casually used word for aap.

It is not a request but kind of a command.usually used in daily conversation

beneficial

Explanation:
The right word is Gunkaarak or Gunkaari

Generally used to describe the beneficial effect of things.

Example: હળદર એ ડાયાબિટિસમાં ગુણકારક (Turmeric is beneficial in diabetes)

Actually, Gun (ગુણ) means quality/benefit/merit and dai (દાયી) means giving.

so Gun dai should also mean beneficial or meritorious, but this word combination is not commonly used.
