Haitian-Creole term or phrase: vle
This is a word from a poem by 19th cent poet Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, who grew up in Guadaloupe. It actually has an acute accent over the "e." It appears in the line "Moi vle z'eveiller toi," Which I'm guessing means, Me wants to wake you up! Two other words, if anyone's interested: "li" and "veni"? THANK YOU SO MUCH--MERCI MILLE FOIS--

My first thought since it is a poem would be to keep this register in the translation and thus go with "I wish to awaken you". Awakening of the individual or perhaps or the senses of that person perhaps should the poem depicts a romance?

I am so grateful for your translation and yes the poem is extremely romantic (critics of Desbordes-Valmore would even say sappy)--though I am not completely sure she's not talking about her child, since her poems about mother/daughter love are rather torrid as well.
