Hebrew term or phrase: invitation
i had a dream this morning. a friend of mine was talking about the word for "invitation" in hebrew. when i woke up i thought wow, i've got to find out what that word is.

could you please tell me what the hebrew pronunciation is for the word "invitation" ? not the hebrew lettering, but how the word is pronounced and written in english? what i'm really looking for is the social context of the word, as in "extending an invitation to join me for dinner", etc., not a piece of paper in the mail. thanks so much.
