ה"אני מאמין" העסקי שלנו מושתת על שלושה יסודות: ערך ללקוח, ערך לסביבה, וערך לחברה האנושית בכלל.

I'd appreciate your help with this.

Moreover, pretentiousness is not called for. The proper formulation would have been simply: Ours is a three-fold credo - X, Y and Z.

The point is that the Hebrew construction is wrong. He tells us what his credo or ethos \"is based on\" - and if that is all we know, then the question remains, what is this credo that is \"based on\" X Y and Z?

Our business ethos is founded on three elements: value to the customer, value to the environment, and value to society as a whole.

You need 'enoshit' in Hebrew (otherwise it might mean 'company'), but not in English.

'Ethos' is the current buzzword in this field. There is no exact Hebrew equivalent, so 'ani maa'min' (which really means 'credo', but is somewhat misapplied here) is often used instead in Israeli texts. I translate this kind of text from AE to Hebrew all the time...

You can also say: established on three foundations. In fact, the more pretentious the better ... :-)

disagree  judithyf: It isn't always necessary to following the Hebrew slavishly. Whether is is credo or ethos, the proper verb is to consist of, not to be founded on. So if anything is misapplied, it is "mushtetet".

-> On the contrary: I changed 'credo' to 'ethos' precisely because I was not following it slavishly. You did, by retaining 'credo'. And an ethos can be founded on things - that's what it says.

Explanation:
Our business credo is based on three principles: value to the customer, value to the environment, and value to society in general.

Ethos, even if it is 'in', is not correct; it means, "the characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community," not a statement of beliefs. "Mushtet" can be "founded on" or "based on". "Yesod" can be "base", "foundation" or "principle", not just "element".

disagree  Eynat: Credo is not the term used; ethos is. I translate this stuff all the time from E to H.

disagree  Eynat: 'human' is redundant. You are the one guilty of slavish Heblish, using 'credo' which is wrong. Established on 3 f' is perfectly good idiomatic E syntax, and beyond a certain point we can't change the text so as to 'improve' the logic. You are going beyond

-> Also, established on three foundations is not only pretentious, it is Heblish.
