FR engagement 12:12 Jul 11, 2010
The was a question yesterday or so about the French word engagement/engager in a business context. In rough terms, it was something like (in English) "X is authorized to engage the Company up to the sum of XXX", which is the parallel IMHO to התקשרות in the Hebrew business practice. Of course, "engagement" won't fly in English (unless a diamond ring is involved too) - but this is IMHO the source of the Hebrew expression. I think that "התקשרות" is a catch-all term for contract, agreement, framework agreement or any other of "business commitment". |
