Continuing with the agenda of a company's annual meeting, one item they plan to discuss is the renewal of
התקשרות החברה בהסכם העיסקה עם מר פלוני אלמוני
Would this be the Company's undertaking of the transaction agreement (which sounds awkward to me) or is there a smoother way to say this?

So... one point on the agenda is the renewal of business relations with a specific individual....
In order to cut down the word count you can shorten בהסכם העיסקה to just "business" as the "deal/agreement" part is often intrinsically implied in doing "business" with someone.
I've included the renewal in the title (which in the context is perhaps necessary) but if the "renewal" part is mentioned elsewhere you could shorten it further to:

"the company's commitment to working with Mr John Doe..."

It might even be possible to shorten it further as the "doing business with/working with" is likely to be implicitly understood...so it could be...

"the company's commitment to Mr John Doe..."

...in which they discuss the companies commitment to future projects with this man.

If we're talking about the main points listed in an agenda you might want to be as short and concise as possible (i.e. the last option), as they are only meant to be snippets giving an idea of what is to be discussed at length later on.

it is the renewal of it that they are actually discussing, if that's not a commitment of sorts, i don't know what is.

also...surely when you enter into an agreement with someone you are committing to hold up your end of the deal? hence a commitment, and they are talking about renewing this, i.e. a further commitment

I respect Meirs' answer, but his answer indicates the presence of a third party. "xxx regarding yyy". But the context given shows no evidence of a third party. There's the company and Mr John Doe but no mention of any other party.

Explanation:
Obviously, I can't be sure without the benefit of more context, but based on the usage of the definite article in this sentence, I strongly suspect that the Hebrew speaks about הסכם העסקה (employment agreement) and not about any עיסקה (business deal). It will be interesting to know if I'm right.

neutral  Sangro: Hitkashrut means "entering into agreement/contractual relations". There is no renewal, no commitment.//YES, it should be short! This is it why I agreed with Meirs. :-)

  ->  I know what it means, but "entering into an agreement with" is incredibly long winded, please see notes above. There is indeed a renewal, and a commitment (any agreement inherently entails a commitment to uphold the terms of the agreement).
