2. בלשון הדיבור הפיק תועלת ממשהו, לרוב מבלי שהשקיע בכך מאמצים או משאבים; קצר פירות מפעילות כלשהי מבלי לתרום ישירות להצלחתה.

So maybe to take a free ride would do.
