Hebrew to English translations [PRO] Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s) | | Hebrew term or phrase: היתרי מת"ק | Below is a preliminary translation of an extract from a court case involving Arab parents who reside legally in Israel and want their children (Palestinian by status, though living in Israel) to acquire Israeli residence rights as well.
"In August 2005 changes were made to the Temporary Order Law. Inter alia, it was legislated that men above the age of 35 could participate in a family unification procedure, and that it would be possible to regularize the stay in Israel of residents’ children between the ages of 14 and 18 by means of *היתרי מת"ק. Resident’s children aged less than 14 could receive temporary status for two years, which could be extended from time to time. |
