The question is whether we are talking about ‘עמותה’ in the local, Israeli context, as defined by the Law; in this case, you have to adopt the language of the Law, which distinguishes between ‘AMUTOT’ – “NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATIONS”, Public Benefit Companies and Endowments, which all belong to the Non-Profit Organizations branch in the Justice Ministry Corporations Authority (see http://www.justice.gov.il/NR/rdonlyres/EE9D052B-A07F-477D-97...

Asker: In this case I am looking for the correct word and I don't need the legal explanation (since I'm a lawyer) but I thank you for your input regarding the other suggestions made here. Fellowship and friendly society, even though they are mentioned in wiki and in babylon are not "amutot" in the broad sense.
