Hebrew term or phrase: חיוניות מתפרצת
Hi there!

A few weeks ago I posted a question concerning a slogan: 'Ahead in Vitality'. I received a couple of translations in Hebrew, but now I have to give a literal translation of the exact words of the Hebrew version.

Thanks for helping me out!

exuberant vitality
Explanation:
again, context would be helpful. You could use the above, which would be a correct translation, or you might perhaps use "sheer exuberance", which amounts to the same thing.

חיוניות מתפרצת

Explanation:
חיוני = essential
מתפרץ = exploding. not in the sense of an exploding device, but in the sense of something that's expanding very fast

The combination of these two words is a little unclear to me, a verbatim translation would be "Expanding essentiality", but it doesn't mean anyhting to me.
I hope my comments will help you make some sense of it.

It just hit me that vital is a synonym for essential, so I guess חיוניות is vitality (although it doesn\'t sound right). Then I guess what you have is Exploding Vitality.

Hi! Sorry it took me a while to get back. I checked and it seems that technically, חיוניות can mean vitality. However, my friends here in Israel don\'t like this use of חיוניות too much. Another word for vitality could be מרץ . Now this one is tricky to use in advertising because it\'s also the name of a well known political party in Israel.
Can you provide more context ? Is it by any chance an ad for shampoo (it would make for a cute pun on ahead) ?

disagree  Eynat: In this context, there is nothing wrong with translating it as vitality. מתפרץ is not exploding at all but bursting, which in English and Hebrew is used figuratively (as in 'spring is bursting out all over'); you have looked at it only literally

  -> Thanks, bursting was what I was looking for, it just didn't want to come out. But I still have never heard חיוניות used as vitality (correct as it may be literally).
