In a hospitalization report, in the patient history, the patient had two cardiac events. One was an אוטם חודר לשריר הלב while the other one was an אוטם לא חודר לשריר הלב. What is the difference between these two kinds, what does it mean practically speaking and how is it commonly translated?

חודר
permeating

Explanation:
I came across this term today as well - I was hoping it might be related to לחדור v. to penetrate; intrude; permeate; impregnate.

Example sentence(s):
  • hospitalized in the ICU after a *permeating* blockage of the heart muscle...
