Hebrew to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical (general)
Hebrew term or phrase:סוכרת מוזרת
On a hospital admission report, it lists the patient's background. After describing the patient's history of ischemic heart disease, there is a line that says:
ברקע בנוסף םוכרת מוזרת ויל"ד
I just want to make sure there is no disease named מוזרת, or a condition called סוכרת מוזרת. This looks to me just to be a typo and they meant סוכרת מוכרת except that a zayin is not right next to a chof on my keyboard.
Explanation: The feminine of מוזר IS מוזרה and not מוזרת .
So it most probably is a typo for מוכרת
The ז and כ are not adjacent on my keyboard too, but a typo can have other reasons (a faxed copy?)

Explanation: There are some 18,200,000 Google search results for induced diabetes, and the equivalent Hebrew term is
סוכרת מושרית
with some 10,500 Google search results.
Since the "ש" is close to the "ז" on the keyboard, this could well be a typo:
מושרית - מוזרת

According to the Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steroid_diabetes),
Steroid diabetes (also "steroid-induced diabetes") is a medical term referring to prolonged hyperglycemia due to glucocorticoid therapy for another medical condition. It is usually, but not always, a transient condition.
The most common glucocorticoids which cause steroid diabetes are prednisolone and dexamethasone given systemically in "pharmacologic doses" for days or weeks. Typical medical conditions in which steroid diabetes arises during high-dose glucocorticoid treatment include severe asthma, organ transplantation, etc.
Since your text talks about “stent implantation”, it could indeed be the case of induced diabetes.
By the way, in Hebrew spelling without vowels, “מושרית” is written “מושרת”, which is closer to “מוזרת”.

with regard to the speling of "מושרית", it could have been written, by mistake, "מושרת". The correct spelling is:
מֻשְׁרֵית
