Hebrew to English translations [Non-PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / Name of a Group | | Hebrew term or phrase: גבעטרון | Hi,
I've often been intrigued by the meaning of this word for a popular group.
I wouldn't perhaps normally ask about a name, but the existence of the letter ayin suggests to me that it must have a Hebrew root and therefore some kind of meaning.
All the best,
Simon |

| | English translation:Kibbutz Geva choir | Explanation: The group was originally created by members of Kibbutz Geva, hence the name: Geva + (tea)tron `Geva Theater'. If you want to go further back, the name "geva" is probably related to giv'ah `hill'. |
